Week 12 Day 5

If my blog is not updated, there are possibly only 2 reasons. Either I'm enjoying myself or I'm terribly suffering from the side effects of the treatment. Till now the side effects from the radiotherapy is still minor, but the side effects from the chemo drug, cisplatin almost kills me.
I had my worst side effects since Tuesday after the chemo on Cisplatin. I was precribed with Emend, the strongest anti-nausea drug before the 500ml Cisplatin injection.
Even though I took the Emend, the nausea and fatique caused by cisplatin is worse than that of the previous GCP chemo drugs. I had totally no appetite on Tuesday and I couldn't remember what I had eaten.
Wednesday morning after the radiotherapy, I felt extremely hungry and bought a packet of vegetarian bee hoon on my way back. After taking the bee hoon, I felt energized and satisfied. However, the terrible continuous hiccups striked me in the afternoon. This is not the usual hiccups we experienced occasionally which could be stopped by drinking water or controlling breath. This hiccups was one of the rare side effects that happened on male patients who took cisplatin; I didn't even know it until I did a google.
The hiccups tortured me for almost 24 hours until I requested to see the doctor for a hiccups relief medicine. Anyway the anti-hiccups medicine was not very effective. Due to the continuous hiccups, I couldn't sleep, and couldn't eat. The worst is that somehow the hiccups triggered the reflux of my gastric acid and causes severe pain to my upper stomach whenever I drink or eat or even blup.
I couldn't believe hiccups can kill, but now I'm really scared of it. I will ask my doctor to stop cisplatin on me.

Week 12 Day 1

This morning I had a blood test review with the chemo doctor. Everything seems back to normal and tomorrow I will be taking another type of chemo drug, Cisplatin. The Cisplatin has several side effects which are worse than the previous chemo drugs that I have taken.

From tomorrow onwards, I will be going for the chemo on every Tuesday, until when? I can't be bothered to ask the doctor, I will just go until they run out of drugs.

In the afternoon, I had the first cycle of radiotherapy, and I will be going for it every weekday for a total of 33 cycles.

The radiotherapy only took me about 20 minutes. During the radiotherapy I only heard some mechanical arm moving sound, besides that no special feeling at all.

However, when I reached home I started to feel a bit itchy on my neck. Not sure is it due to psychological effect or this is the beginning of burning sensation, I just applied aloe vera gel to ease the itch.

Week 11 Day 1

This week is my last week of enjoyment before the radiotherapy. I must make full use of this week to enjoy myself, but how to? This H1N1 came at a wrong time, there was about 600 known cases as reported in today's news. So my chances is about 600/4.5 million = 0.013%.

Not that high, right?

Topic Terminator

Have you come across a topic terminator when you were trying to strike a conversation?

When the topic is about food,
someone says "I eat to live, not live to eat"

When the topic is about gossip,
someone says "I only mind my own business"

When the topic is about luxury stuff,
someone says "Why waste money on those? Do you know a lot of people are suffering in hunger?"

When the topic is about investment,
someone says "Money is the root of all evil"

When the topic is about computer stuff and gadgets,
someone says "I can live better without those stuff"

When topic is about your own experience or encounter,
someone says "Sure or not? Don't bullshit!"

Week 10 Day 3

This morning I went to NCC for the preparation of coming radiotherapy in 2 weeks time.
I was supposed to remake a new head fitting shell as my previous shell was made 3 months ago before my chemotherapy.

Surprisingly, my previous shell is still able to nicely fit my head, hence there is no need to remake a new shell.

Tomorrow will be another round of CT scan and MRI scan.

Who, When, What, Where, How?

I know when you visited my blog,
I know what's your computer configuration,
I know where were you from,
I know how you found my blog.
But I have no idea who you are.

There was a visitor with domain name "speedy.net.pe" visited my blog on 21th June 5:01am.

Oh, that visitor was from Lima in Peru.
The computer configuration was WinXP, Internet Explorer 7, 1024x768 monitor resolution, blah blah blah.

That's how the person found my blog while googling the word "Chanting Bowl".
However, I have no way to know who you are, unless you tell me.
